Wine for a villa rented with friends: the week's cellar
Fifteen friends, one villa, seven days. You need a cellar for the week, somewhere to have it delivered and a way to split the bill. The tool works out the bottles, the cases by colour and what each person pays. The result fits in one formula: for fifteen, roughly one case a day.

What the tool assumes
Set by default to fifteen friends, seven days, an aperitif and a dinner every day: 0.4 bottle per person per day, or 2.4 glasses. Fifteen people means six bottles a day: 42 bottles, 7 cases, one a day. In summer, rosé and white make up two thirds of the cellar, the red is served cool with the barbecue (see wine with a barbecue) and a case of champagne keeps the bubbles for one evening.
- No margin. Unopened cases are not taken back: the calculation is rounded to the case, with nothing extra. If you are three bottles short on the last night, the village wine shop is ten minutes away; a spare case goes home in someone's boot.
- One organiser, one invoice. A single person orders, receives the quote and pays; everyone pays them back before delivery. It is the group buying with friends method, applied to a week.
- Delivery to the villa, someone to receive it. The owner, the agency or the concierge service, or you on arrival day. Lead time and price for the rental address are to be confirmed in the quote; the delivery page gives the orders of magnitude.

How many bottles for a week for fifteen?
About forty: an aperitif and a dinner every day, 0.4 bottle per person, 42 bottles over seven days, or seven cases of six. A sensible group comes down to 36 bottles, six cases; a group that parties every night goes up to 54, nine cases.
How to split the wine bill among friends?
By the number of drinkers, not guests: those who don't drink wine pay for the groceries, not the cellar. For 42 bottles at the everyday level, champagne included, the tool comes to €444, or €30 per person for the week. One organiser pays the invoice and everyone pays them back before delivery.
Can it be delivered to the rental address?
Yes, by parcel, as long as someone is there to receive it: the owner, the agency or you on arrival day. Give the exact address, when someone will be there and the gate code in the request. Lead time and price for that address are to be confirmed in the quote.
Do you need a wine merchant for a week's holiday?
From about twenty bottles, a quote is worth it: the per-case price and delivery save three trips to the supermarket. Below that, for a weekend for six, the wine shop nearest the rental does just as well, and the calculator says so.
